Learning science is almost like learning a new language. If you don't know the words, you can't speak the language. Below are lists of the main vocabulary words for each unit we will do this year.
Unit 1: Scientific Method Unit 2: Atomic Structure and Chemical Bonds Unit 3: Properties and Changes of Matter Unit 4: Plate Tectonics and the Rock Cycle Unit 5: Fossils and Evolution Unit 6: The Earth, Moon and Sun System Unit 7: The Solar System Online Flashcard maker |
Every unit we do is concluded with a review of the main points. Below are the "Test Reviews" for each major unit we will do this year.

Grade Scale:
This class is graded on total points, however the scores related to each type of assignment are consistent and weighted. Tests/Quizzes: 60% Projects/Labs: 25% Homework/Assignments: 10% Miscellaneous Participation: 5% NOTE: I do not give extra credit on an individual bases. Students are given opportunities to earn extra credit throughout the semester, and should take advantage of them at that time. |
Test Retake Procedure:
1) Conference with Teacher 2) Finish Test Review if you didn't the first time 3) Make vocabulary flashcards, either online or on recipe cards. 4) Complete the retake by the deadline (usually within a week of getting the original test back. NOTE: The retake isn't the exact same test as the original, but the content is the same. |
